Tates Creek Baptist Association is a family of churches working together to fulfill the “Great Commission” in our community and the world through Christ.
TCBA was organized in 1793. It was the fourth founded association in the state of Ky. We have 40 congregations, located predominantly in Madison County, Kentucky, as well as in portions of nearby Garrard and Estill Counties.

Associational Mission Strategist: Greg Lakes

Brother Greg has served over 22 years in ministry with local churches and the IMB. He was the pastor of Pilot Knob Baptist Church for the last 13 years from May 2010 - May 2023. Formerly an IMB Missionary to South Asia. He previously pastored Valley Baptist Church in Rockcastle Baptist Association. He also has served on several boards and committees with the Kentucky Baptist Convention, being chair twice of the Missions Mobilization Team and Committee on Public Affairs. Greg holds a Master of Arts degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He and his wife Dellena have been married for 28 years and are the parents of three children—Logan (Cati), Alyssa and Eli and also grandparents to Lottie Drew. They have served together through all the years of Greg’s ministry and look forward to serving in this role together as AMS and Admin Assistant.
TCBA LEADERSHIP TEAM
Moderator: Jason Eades
Jason has been the pastor of Viney Fork Baptist Church since October of 2019. Having been a follower of Christ since the age of six, Jason has engaged in various ministries over the years serving as Sunday School teacher, deacon and other service roles at Waco Baptist Church until he surrendered to the call as pastor in 2019 and moved to Viney Fork Baptist. Jason is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness. He is a bi-vocational pastor and owns an Ace Hardware in Irvine, Kentucky. Jason has been married since 2000 to his wife, Jill. Together they have two sons, Justin and Landon.
Church Development & Evangelism Team Leader: David Johnson
David has been the pastor of Waco Baptist Church since March of 2020 after serving on staff at churches in West Virginia and Kentucky. David holds a B.S. in religion from Liberty University as well as a Master of Divinity from Liberty University School of Divinity. David has served in the Army for 11 years and is currently the Chaplain Corp of Kentucky Army National Guard. He has been married to his wife Kelsey since 2011 and they have three children, Adalyn, Elias and Isabella.
Leadership Development Team Leader: Tony Christian
Tony has served as pastor of GracePoint Church in Richmond since April, 2012. Under his leadership, the congregation (formerly known as Cornerstone Baptist Church) went through a process of revitalization and rebranding, ultimately uniting with the Tates Creek Baptist Association, the Kentucky Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention in 2017. Tony previously served churches in Missouri and Kentucky. He is a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. He and his wife Cheryl have three daughters and five grandchildren.
